A simple yet effective type writer effect with small filesize. Perfect for a banner.

1. Open Photoshop and create a new canvas 468x60pixels, make the background colour black

2. Select the type tool

and type the text you wish to appear. I chose 20 pt arial black with 40 tracking.

3. Create a new layer by going to Layers > New layer. or by clicking the new layer button in the layers panel

4. Select the rectangle shape tool

and select the color to be black.

5. Create a rectangle that perfectly covers the text.

6. Open Imageready and Create a new frame. then select the layer containing the black rectagle

7. Select the cursor tool

then hold shift and press the right arrow until the first letter of your text appears

8. Keep repeating step 7 untill you have revealed all of your text
