Creating a simple interface

These interfaces can make a webpage look and feel much more professional.
1. Firstly create a new canvas of the appropriate size approx 600 x 400.
2. Create a new layer and using the rounded rectangle tool draw a rectangle as shown below.

3. Make a new layer and using the ellipse tool draw an ellipse as shown below.
4. Press Ctr + Click on the layer which has the ellipse to select the ellipse.

5. Go to select toobar and click modify, and then contract. Contract the selected layer by 5 pixels.

6. Press delete to delete the selection in both the layer with the ellipse and rectangle.
7. Using the magic wand select the inner edge of the ellipse. Create a new layer and fill the selected area in black.
8. select the layer you have just filled and press Ctr + left click to select the black fill image. Create a new layer and contract the selection by 5 pixels as done in step 5.
9. Fill the selection in blue.
10. Double click the layer with the horizontal bar and put a gradient overlay. Repeat this method for the ellipse and the inner ellipse.

Experiment around with the colours to produce the gradient overlay of your choice

The figure above were the gradient settings that I used.

A good interface can grab the attention of a web surfer and is a good tool to use to convey important infomation about you site.
